During the month of June a crowdfunding campaign on the platform www.kickstarter.com is looking for sponsors to fund a short film of dance and music called "Quartet".

"Quartet" is a short experimental film that fuses together three primary art forms: music, dance, and film. "Quartet" is the second film of a trilogy of “visual music art” where the director, Mariana Palacios Izaguirre, explores the connections between music and dance from different perspectives. The artistic idea of "Quartet" is to research the beat, the rhythm, and the repetitions as one of the strongest primary elements belonging to both music and dance, with the focus in their connections and disconnections. Through this sensory connection towards the beat and the rhythm a functional and progressive piece for two dancers and two musicians will be carried out.

"Quartet" is directed by Mariana Palacios Izaguirre, pianist, composer, and filmmaker working in Göteborg. The film will be shot in October at the GöteborgsOperan, and premiered in December in Göteborg. The team is formed by Micol Mantini and Pascal Marty, two great dancers from the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, the pianist and composer Juan J. Ochoa, and the co-producers and production consultants Lars Bergbom and Carl O. J. Olsson, from the production company Lucy Film Group established in Göteborg.

"Quartet" is granted by Göteborgs Stad, but it requires more funding. All the donations, even the small ones, are very welcome. Please, if this project inspires you, support us and share the campaign.
