SWIT is the platform for contemporary photography bridging Sweden and Italy. SWIT is nomadic. Through exhibitions, residencies, talks, and online activities, the platform aims to stimulate a continuous process of mutual enrichment between Sweden and Italy.

Are you based in Göteborg and want to try something new? We are currently looking for a praktikant* to join our team.

YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT ‣ Running an international platform focused on exchanges between Sweden-Italy within photography ‣ Budgets and funding applications ‣ Building connections and partnerships ‣ Managing open calls ‣ What makes an application stand out (or not), useful if you’re applying to stuff yourself ‣ The occasional drama of working with artists and how to solve it nicely :)

WHAT YOU CAN DO We are open about your contribution. Some suggestions: ‣ Document events ‣ Communication (IG and website) ‣ Welcome artists in residence, take care of them, be a local reference point ‣ Be present at events (open studios, artist talks, vernissages...) for an extra hand ‣ Help with raising funding and building new collaborations ‣ Be part of the open-calls jury ‣ Contribute to the platform by brainstorming future ideas with the team ‣ Expand our network by bringing in collaborations that you value

*By "praktikant" we mean that the role is unpaid (lol where is the money in culture?) and therefore we are very flexible in the way you want to help and the time you want to put in.

⏳The position is 10–20%, depending on the month. We don't have continuous activities, but work project-based. When there's funding, we do things. Other times, we prefer to prioritize our personal life, and that's fine too.

Ideally, starting from September and up to 6 months. If we'll get more funding, we'll turn the position into a paid one. During the interview, we'll share our 2025–2026 programme with you and discuss what's possible.
