Photography Unsettled

The artist and essayist Jimmie Durham notes in his essay “Creativity and the social process”, reopening the debate on the purpose of art, “I believe that art should speak to other parts of life, and those parts should speak to art.”

This group exhibition collects 16 ultimately different practices in photography, all speaking to parts of life, yet each investigates an image that is out of balance. An image out of balance with reality, our memory and perception of time and space.

Together they may appear as an assemblage of unstable images, sometimes speaking to, sometimes past each other.

Exhibiting artists are: Therese Berggren Oscar Collin Karin Ehrlén Susanne Fagerlund Bilge Gül Katrine Hoff Angelica Ingólfsson Anna Sofia Jernryd Geraldine Juárez Johan F. Källman Dennis Löfberg Lisa Paulsson Line Rolf Alma Schreck Carl Söderström
